Staff Scientist 4.0 4.0 out of 5 stars Orlando, FL 32810 Job Summary Seismic Surveys is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Scientist to join our team. This position involves conducting field monitoring, data analysis, and reporting for geotechnical and construction vibration projects. Ideal candidates are dependable, safety-conscious, and comfortable working independently in both office and field environments. Responsibilities Travel to and work on job sites in but not limited to central & southeast Florida Conduct pre-condition surveys and operate seismographs to monitor vibrations from construction or blasting activities. Analyze seismic data and prepare accurate, timely reports. Build, maintain, and install remote seismograph stations; manage equipment inventory and logs. Assist in preparing proposals and technical reports. Maintain thorough documentation of all field activities for inclusion in project files and final reports. Participate in training, conferences, and other professional development as approved. Follow all company and OSHA safety procedures, complete required safety training. Maintain a billable ratio of over 95% annually. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Geology, Engineering, or a related field preferred. Obtain ICC Residential Building Inspector Certification within two years of employment. Experience with customer or client interactions, and an understanding of what it means to be the face of the organization while in the field Strong communication and organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to work independently in varied field conditions. Reliable, punctual, and flexible with work hours based on project needs. Capable of checking in daily for assignments and submitting weekly timesheets and daily site reports on time. Communicates effectively with Project Managers on progress, budget, and scheduling. You must be a US citizen or legal to work in the United States and have a clean driving record. Fluency in English is required. This is a full-time (8- or 10-hour shift), on-site position which requires travel, and from time to time may require overtime, or response to weekend/evening call outs.
