Full Job Description Position Overview:

We are looking for a highly organized and technically proficient Field Technology Manager to oversee the deployment and support of field layout technologies on our electrical construction projects. This role is critical to ensuring our crews have the equipment, files, and support they need to execute accurately and efficiently. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on expertise with Trimble RTS and GNSS tools , AutoCAD and/or Revit , and demonstrate strong leadership in building and maintaining structured processes for layout, as-builts, and field support. Professional Survey License not required or applicable.

Key Responsibilities:

Field Technology Support & Oversight Serve as the primary support resource for field crews using Trimble Robotic Total Stations (RTS) and GNSS units , including troubleshooting, training, and optimization of use. Maintain, deploy, and track all field layout hardware and software, ensuring readiness and minimizing downtime. Provide proactive field support and on-site assistance to crews as needed. Layout File & As-Built Management Develop, maintain, and distribute accurate layout files based on models or 2D drawings, coordinating with VDC and project teams. Ensure organized and traceable file structures and naming conventions across all projects. Oversee collection and management of as-built data using field tools and/or scanning workflows. Process Development & Documentation Create, document, and continuously refine standard operating procedures (SOPs) for field layout, data management, and field technology usage. Develop and implement best practices for equipment check-in/check-out, maintenance, and version control of layout files. Establish structured workflows between the office and field to streamline communication and minimize rework. Team & Resource Coordination Organize and lead the Field Technology team, defining clear responsibilities and performance expectations. Coordinate scheduling and deployment of resources to support multiple active jobs. Track and report on field tech utilization, performance, and issues.

Required Qualifications:

Strong hands-on experience with Trimble layout equipment (RTS and GNSS) in an active construction environment. Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Revit for creating and managing layout files. Demonstrated ability to organize complex workflows, manage priorities , and maintain attention to detail across multiple concurrent projects. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 5+ years of experience in electrical construction, field layout, or construction technology support.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Trimble FieldLink, Revit MEP workflows, and point cloud/as-built data integration. Knowledge of construction coordination tools such as Navisworks, Autodesk Build, or Bluebeam. Familiarity with field scanning and reality capture tools. Mechanical, Electrical and or Plumbing experience highly preferred
