Business Development and Marketing:
Collaborate with Regional Manager to develop and execute strategic plans for business development within the survey and geospatial sector. Identify and pursue opportunities with transportation agencies, municipalities, private clients, and other relevant entities. Cultivate and maintain local client relationships through regular communication and engagement. Lead marketing efforts, including proposal writing, technical writeups, and participate in industry events. Coordinate with internal teams and external partners for project pursuits.
Staff Management:
Provide leadership, mentorship, and direction to the survey and geospatial department staff. Perform recruitment, hiring, and training processes to ensure a skilled and cohesive team. Conduct performance evaluations, identify training needs, and provide opportunities for professional development. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages innovation and growth. Coordinate workload distribution and teambuilding activities to optimize efficiency and productivity.
Financial Management:
Manage survey office budget, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives. Assist Regional Manager with development of survey office budget. Monitor project financials, including revenue, expenses, and profitability, and take appropriate actions to address variances. Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and regulations
Technical Expertise Leadership:
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of surveying and geospatial technologies, methodologies, and industry best practices. Provide technical guidance, support, and oversight to departmental staff to ensure high-quality deliverables. Collaborate with support groups to integrate survey and geospatial services into multidisciplinary projects effectively.
Project Management:
Manage survey and geospatial projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to budget, schedule, and quality standards. Oversee project coordination, including resource allocation, scheduling, and client communication. Facilitate regular project reviews and status updates to monitor progress and address any issues or concerns promptly. Ensure timely and accurate invoicing and financial reporting for all projects.
Other and Fleet Management:
Supervise office operations, including space planning, supply procurement, and coordination with support departments. Oversee fleet resources, including vehicle maintenance, repair approvals, and coordination with vendors. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies related to office and fleet management. What you’ll need Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, or equivalent experience. Professional Surveyor & Mapper (PSM) or Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license. Extensive experience in surveying, geospatial, or related field. Demonstrated proficiency in people management and leadership. Strong business development and client management skills. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational abilities. Proficiency in technologies used in surveying and geospatial analysis.
