Field Technician Van Buskirk & Fish Surveying And Mapping North Port, FL 34289 VanBuskirk & Fish Surveying and Mapping is looking for an experienced field technician to add to our current team. We survey in Charlotte, Sarasota and Manatee counties for new construction, commercial and residential areas every step of the way. Experience required in leading a field crew. Position will report directly to the Crew Supervisor. Candidate should have excellent organizational & communication skills and also be able to work in a team environment.
Requirements:
Visit work/construction sites for land and grade measurements. Using basic mathematics and reading numerals. Provide accurate survey rod readings. Work in varying weather conditions and work environments including dusty, wet, loud noises, etc. This is Florida, so working in a HOT and HUMID environment is to be expected. Keep company vehicle, tools and equipment clean and orderly, informing management of any safety concerns. Comply with all company policies, procedures and safety requirements. Perform any other general duties as specified. Must be able to create legible field sketches. Must have a valid, current drivers license. Transmits survey data to proper files in the computer network and acquire data for field use. Accurately and efficiently clears line, establish points, tape, chain and level for field survey projects. Load for transportation, clean and store field surveying equipment used by the crew. Communicate and coordinate effectively with other crew members to facilitate the timely and accurate completion of assigned projects. Accurately identify the various types of trees encountered while performing field survey work. Cuts and clears brush and trees from line of survey. Read and interpolate survey maps, construction plans and utility plans. Compute, process, and map field data in an organized manner. Stand, walk, use hands, tools, controls, reach with arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as well as lift and/or move up to 50-75 pounds. Observe all safety guidelines and procedures, particularly when working around traffic or on active construction sites.
