The ideal candidate will be a Professional Land Surveyor with a valid Georgia Surveying License. This Position has the opportunity for growth to other territories and offices that provide surveying services throughout Georgia. This position reports directly to the divisions Surveying Department Manager. •

Job Description:

This position is responsible for managing survey projects to establish the requirements to meet accuracy standards, budgets, schedules, and board compliance. Supervise and assist coworkers in completing all aspects of land surveying regarding field work and office work, including but not unlimited to establishing horizontal and vertical control, topographic, as-built, property boundary surveys and construction staking. Ensures compliance to all applicable regulations and requirements, including boundary calculations and legal compliance. Ensures projects are completed on time and within budget. Manage subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. Act as an advisor to land surveying team regarding projects, tasks, and operations. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. This position has full authority for personnel actions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Ensure that project research is complete including plats, deeds, estimates and all necessary job research is complete before dispatching crews to the job. Management of field crews – assign them their daily work schedule, pair assistants with the appropriate crew chiefs, process requests for absence/vacation. Evaluate staff performance and provide input the decision process of advancement and/or maintaining employment. Track the field work to completion and assign to CAD drafters. Ensure that Crew Chiefs are aware of job details and any unusual circumstances prior to dispatching to job. Management of projects and provide scope of work to the field crew, cad drafter and the signing surveyor. Answer client calls with concerns or questions regarding the survey and anticipated delivery of the survey. Provide field crews with calculated property corners for replacing lost or obliterated monumentation. Take sales calls and emails, quote projects, processes work orders, takes payments as required Ensure project hours do not exceed the billable and budgeted hours Responsible for project management of survey projects. Assigns and directs project effort (survey crews and technicians), project communications within the company and to outside stakeholders, monitors and processes financial information, and maintains client relationships and attends training, as necessary. Skill Requirements:

The position requires a complete understanding of land surveying and the various types of surveying that can be requested or required to help the client obtain the survey that will allow them to achieve their goal. Good communication skills are essential. Familiar with operation of all survey instruments, including conventional and robotic total stations Provides effective day-to-day supervision of project survey staff. Reads and interpret titles, deeds, plats, plans and specifications. Sets priorities and meets deadlines. Identifies and implements effective courses of action in order to complete work assignments. Maintains files of plats, documents, and other records. Ability to solve problems, perform surveying calculations and resolve property boundaries.

Required Experience:

Current Georgia Professional Land Surveying License Minimum of 5 years project management experience. Minimum of 5 years land surveying experience. Proficiency in MS Office. Must be skilled in managing multiple priorities and prioritizing work assignments. Must be able to work independently and make survey related decisions. Must be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Must be able to solve problems related to surveying and mapping projects; certify legal descriptions, plats, and survey reports; supervise technicians and field crews on survey and mapping projects as well as attend required meetings. Additional Land Surveying Licenses / Plan Planning credentials, are a plus.
