Card Hazardous Waste Operations & Emergency Response Training Outdoor work Utility locating Mid-level 3 years High school diploma or GED Driver’s License GIS Full Job Description Position Summary We are seeking an experienced Subsurface Utility Locator to support industrial, infrastructure, and environmental projects along the Gulf Coast’s critical energy and transportation corridor. This role involves field-based identification and mapping of underground utilities using electromagnetic and Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) methods. The ideal candidate can interpret findings, produce legible utility drawings in AutoCAD, and deliver clear, professional reporting of results to project teams and clients. Key Responsibilities Conduct subsurface utility investigations using MetroTech, GPR with various antenna frequencies, and electromagnetic locating tools Process and interpret GPR data using RADAN software Generate or revise utility layout drawings in AutoCAD based on GPS and field data Maintain detailed and accurate field documentation and reporting, including sketches, field notes, and digital logs Develop concise, well-organized utility location reports summarizing findings, methods, and interpretations Communicate findings clearly to engineers, project managers, and client representatives Comply with DISA drug/alcohol testing and pass background screening required for access to petrochemical and federal facilities Travel throughout the Gulf Coast region to industrial, refinery, and infrastructure sites Follow strict safety standards and client HSE requirements in high-risk environments Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required; technical training or trade certification preferred 3+ years of experience in utility locating or geophysical survey work Proficient with MetroTech locating equipment, GSSI or equivalent GPR systems, RADAN, and AutoCAD Knowledge of GPR antenna selection (e.g., 250-900 MHz) for variable depths and subsurface conditions Strong technical reporting and documentation skills, including written field reports and photographic logs Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, site plans, and subsurface data outputs Organized and detail-oriented with consistent field-to-office data integration Must have valid driver’s license and clean driving record Willing and able to travel frequently and work outdoors in variable weather Preferred Qualifications OSHA 40-Hour
