Responsibilities:

What you’ll be challenged to do: Our Charlotte office is seeking an experienced Party Chief to join its survey team. If you have experience in Land Surveying, TranSystems offers you a challenging and rewarding opportunity, as well as a smart solution to your career decision. The Party Chief will work in a transportation and construction oriented setting which will include highways, railroads, public and private sites. Plan, organize, direct and review work of one or more survey personnel engaged in field surveys to determine the precise location of points, elevations, lines, areas and contours for boundary, topographic and construction surveys Prepare and maintain survey notes to company standards or verbal instructions Interprets previous survey evidence, maps, plats, deeds, physical evidence to obtain data necessary for boundary, topographic and construction surveys Accurately calculate, record and review field data gathered so that the information is clear and understandable Ability to properly and effectively supervise the survey crew daily activity for efficiency and safety purposes

Qualifications:

What you bring to our firm: Minimum 5 years related experience High School Diploma/GED Experience operating the following equipment: Differential and Digital Levels, Total Stations (Manual and Robotic Units), Data collector, and survey Global Positioning Systems (GPS) units Excellent leadership skills Good interpersonal and communication skills High attention to detail Good analytical skills Must be dependable and have a good driving record Must be capable of passing applicable safety training requirements Ability to successfully pass a seven year criminal background check Ability to work in the environment described below: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts by roadway, major highway and rail traffic, working in timber and brush areas and outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold, and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. Frequently required to travel for extended periods of time. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk long distances, climb or balance, stoop or kneel and drive a motor vehicle. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
