Job Description

Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) 4.9 4.9 out of 5 stars Cary, NC 27511 Energy Land and Infrastructure (ELI) is a dynamic and growing regional firm specializing in professional engineering and surveying services. We focus on civil infrastructure projects across the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. Our company, ELI, serves a diverse client base including private entities as well as state and local governments with expertise in Energy, Civil Infrastructure, Utilities, Transportation, and Land Development. Headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee, ELI also operates offices in North Carolina, Virginia, Ohio, and across Tennessee. As we continue to expand, we are now seeking a responsible, highly motivated, and detail-oriented Professional Land Surveyor to join our growing survey team at our Raleigh, NC location. This role will involve a wide range of land surveying tasks including boundary surveys, route surveys, pipeline surveys, topographic surveys, construction layout, as-built surveys, and aerial (UAS/drone) surveying. The Professional Land Surveyor is an integral part of the project team, that will communicate with senior leadership within the company, and communicates directly with clients. Essential tasks with this position include the following: Assist with group management, growth and profitability Day to day coordination with design staff survey needs Workload projections and crew scheduling Resource and equipment evaluation Mentoring, leadership, and guidance of technical team Policy and procedure evaluation and recommendations Survey deliverable production staff support QA/QC of survey deliverables Field survey support (as needed) Oversee data processing procedures Client engagement and proposal support Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs This position reports to the Survey Department Manager and supports the overall management, coordination, and professional oversight of the department. The Professional Land Surveyor should be capable of working independently with minimal supervision while also excelling in a collaborative team setting.

Education/Experience Qualifications:

High School Diploma or its equivalent 2 or 4-year degree in surveying, engineering, construction management, or a related field (preferred but not required) Professional Surveyor licensure in North Carolina or nearby states (or ability to obtain licensing within 12 months) Driven to become licensed in additional states Experience using Trimble Business Center, Civil 3D, MicroStation, Arc

GIS, PLS CADD

(preferred but not required) Experience with 3D Terrestrial Scanning, UAS Part 107 (preferred but not required) 5+ years relevant progressive experience in survey project management (preferred but not required) Excellent communication skills Valid driver’s license Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and AutoCAD Cicil 3
