Survey CAD Technician Job Description We have an immediate opening for a Survey CAD Technician. Our Heavy Civil Construction component has built on decades of success in the wrecking and demolition industries to become one of the premier Heavy Civil contractors in North Carolina. Our Surveying department provides survey technology and positioning support to our fleet of GNSS controlled heavy equipment, and has grown to offer additional services such as Digital Plan Management, Quality Management, Project Support and Training, and As-Builts. The Survey CAD Technician will work closely with our Survey Data Manager and Survey Project Manager to provide CAD, plan management, and modeling support to our construction projects throughout the Carolinas. Responsibilities Coordinate with the Survey Project Manager and field crews to draft As-Built surveys and provide construction stakeout computations. Assist the Survey Data Manager with organizing plans using a digital plan management system. Prepare subgrade surface models and analyze UAS/drone-based photogrammetry surveys to provide quantity estimates to the Project Management team. Assist the Survey Data Manager with GNSS machine control model building in Trimble Business Center. Collaborate in the development and implementation of a company-wide Quality Management Plan. Assist with developing and documenting department procedures and coordinating implementation across all projects. Essential Skills Proficiency in CADD software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, and MicroStation. General knowledge of site and utility construction surveying principles and procedures. Valid state driver’s license. Associate degree or technical certificate required; Bachelor’s degree preferred. Additional Skills & Qualifications Knowledge of Trimble Construction equipment and software including Trimble Business Center, Siteworks, GCS900, SPS900, and Access. Work Environment The position is based in our Cary, NC office but may require limited travel. The role involves working with advanced technologies and equipment to support construction projects across the Carolinas.
