For more information, visit: www.gpinet.com Responsibilities Perform field investigations using GPR and PUL technologies to locate and map underground utilities. Support SUE operations in compliance with ASCE 38 standards. Accurately record utility data and prepare field sketches and notes. Coordinate and interpret utility records, survey drawings, and GIS plots and maps. Collaborate with survey crews and office staff for data integration and CAD production. Collect RTK GPS points of marked-out locations and other assets and infrastructure. Support other investigations, mapping, and non-destructive evaluation and testing (NDE/NDT) Travel to project sites throughout New England, but primarily in MA.
What You Will Need:
Experience in utility locating with GPR and PUL equipment. Willingness and ability to travel, including some overnights, for project assignments (required). Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in the field High school Diploma/GED. Certification or a degree in Civil Engineering, Geology, and GIS is preferred. Valid Driver’s license, ability to meet and maintain GPI’s Authorized Driver Qualifications, personal vehicle for travel between offices, when required. Ability to lift 50 lbs., stand for extended periods and to be calm in high-stress scenarios. Preferred Qualifications Experience working on survey crews or familiarity with land surveying practices. Experience with or knowledge of geophysical surveying and analysis a plus. CAD experience (AutoCAD Civil 3D or MicroStation)
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Maintain a valid driver’s license with a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for final consideration Possess a personal vehicle for use on or around a job site Read, write, and understand plans and directions given in the English language Basic computer skills with the ability to create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel documents, create Outlook emails and utilize SharePoint and Microsoft Teams to communicate with other team members Able to stand for approximately 3 hours minimum a day up to 8 hours Able to traverse a construction job site consisting of uneven ground varying in height and consistency of material, with a variation of elevation 19″ or less (mud, gravel, rutted ground, etc.) Able to wear GPI required PPE, i.e., hard hats, safety vest, work boots, and/or safety glasses/goggles while working GPI offers excellent benefits, including a 401(k) plan, ESOP, medical/dental/vision plans, paid time off, and more.
