Staff Surveyor Job Description As a Staff Surveyor, you will engage in a dynamic role that offers a blend of office-based and field work. Your responsibilities will include coordinating with engineers to complete surveys and contributing to various project tasks with a focus on efficiency and quality. Responsibilities Perform field tasks such as recovering survey markers, conducting boundary and topographic surveys, collecting utility data, and documenting site conditions through photography. Assist with the collection and inversion of data to support mapping and design efforts. Gain hands-on experience with emerging technologies, including UAV (drone) systems and 3D scanning tools. Support office operations with CAD drafting, data processing, historical records research, and document organization. Help maintain and troubleshoot survey instruments and related equipment. Stay informed on industry standards, best practices, and technological advancements through internal and external training opportunities. Contribute ideas and suggestions to enhance workflow efficiency and service quality. Essential Skills Minimum of 3 years experience in surveying and land surveying. Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D. Experience with laser scanning and point cloud technology. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in retail, warehouse, or large project environments. Knowledge of lidar, point cloud, laser scanning, topography, and boundary survey software. Survey Degree is a bonus. Work Environment This role offers hybrid flexibility, with 2 days a week in the office and the remainder working remotely or in the field.
