Job Overview:
We are currently seeking a skilled and motivatedParty Chief to lead our land surveying field crew. The idealcandidate will have a strong background in topographic,construction, and as-built mapping, with hands-on experience usingCarlson Software. This is a leadership role that requires excellenttechnical, organizational, and communication skills.
KeyResponsibilities:
Lead and manage a field survey crew, ensuringaccurate data collection and efficient workflow Perform and overseetopographic, construction, and as-built mapping projects Operateand troubleshoot survey instruments, including total stations, GPSsystems, and data collectors Utilize Carlson Software for fielddata collection and field-to-finish processing Review field notesand drawings for accuracy and completeness Ensure compliance withproject specifications, safety standards, and quality controlprocedures Coordinate with project managers, engineers, andcontractors Maintain and enforce safety protocols, including validSST Card requirements for all crew members
Job Requirements:
Qualifications:
Comply with all site safety requirements, includingholding a valid SST Card (OSHA 40) Extensive experience in landsurveying with a focus on topographic, as-built, and constructionmapping Proficient in Carlson Software and standard surveying toolsand equipment Strong leadership skills with experience managing orsupervising field crews Excellent organizational, problem-solving,and communication skills Union affiliation is preferred; open totraining the right individual without current union membershipAbility to work in various outdoor conditions and challengingterrain
Preferred Experience:
Prior work experience in a unionizedsurveying environment Knowledge of construction site protocols anddocumentation standards FAA Part 107 UAV Pilot Certification andexperience operating UAVs for aerial mapping Hands-on experiencewith Leica LiDAR scanners for high-accuracy 3D data collectionFamiliarity with managing or working on multiple survey projectssimultaneously
