WSP is currentlyinitiating a search for a Senior Consultant for our Charlotteoffice. WSP works closely with architects, owners, and contractorsfrom around the world on large, complex projects with a focus onsustainability and energy performance of the built environment. Beinvolved in projects with our Property & Buildings Team and be apart of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectivesand solves their challenges.
Our Charlotte, North Carolina teamevaluates, designs, and rehabilitates commercial, industrial, andmilitary buildings. This work includes performing field work todocument the structure, performing architectural, engineering, andbuilding enclosure modeling and analysis, developing constructiondocuments, and providing construction administration services. Wework extensively with the US Department of Defense including theAir Force, Army Corps of Engineers, Defense Logistics Agency andother federal government agencies.
Your Impact Support a variety of architectural tasks with the goal topromote technical, social, and ethical skills. Practice basic principles of Building Preservation and BuildingEnclosure Systems. Perform on-site construction observations. Provide support in completing multi-disciplinary on-siteforensic investigations. Assist with project research, analysis and designcalculations. Prepare reports, design documents (design drawings andspecifications) and cost estimates. Assist in collecting and maintaining projectdocumentation. Review fenestration, vertical facade, roofing systems, andwaterproofing. Provide building enclosure commissioning and consultingservices. Assist project teams with completing building enclosure designreviews. Assist with conducting functional performance testing ofenclosure systems. Perform additional responsibilities as required by businessneeds.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications Registered Architect or Professional Engineer 10+ (minimum) of relevant post education experience indiscipline with prior building preservation, enclosures, fa–adedesign, and sustainability experience. Familiar with building materials and construction processes fordesign, construction, and/or repair of building enclosures,fa–ades, waterproofing, cladding systems, roofs, parkingstructures, noise abatement, and the application to projectwork-related issues. Familiar with codes, building planning, design, fa–ade, andconstruction management involving commercial, industrial, andhistoric buildings; including renovation and new designprojects. Knowledge of third-party green building rating systems (LEED,Passive House, LBC, WELL, or related). Proficiency with technical writing, office automation,software, technology, math principles, predictive models,spreadsheets, and tools. Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and abilityto abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassmentpolicies. Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regardingcompany funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code ofConduct and related policies and procedures. Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specificrequirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek. Occasional/intermittent travel may be required depending onproject-specific requirements. Proficient using AutoCAD, Revit, and other technicalsoftware. Ability to perform field work and to work at heights.
PreferredQualifications:
Licensed in multiple states, preferably in the southeast UnitedStates. National Council of Architectural Registration Boardscertificate holder. Member of or interest in becoming a member of the InternationalInstitute of Building Enclosure Consultants (IIBEC). IIBEC Registered Roof Consultant (RRC), RegisteredWaterproofing Consultant (RWC), and Registered Exterior WallConsultant (REWC), and/or Registered Building Enclosure Consultant(RBEC). Experience with WUFI, THERM, and energy modeling software.
