GENERAL

DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE

This role will be responsible for overseeing all corporate environmental sustainability initiatives, projects and reporting obligations. Key areas of expertise are climate, water, biodiversity, waste and packaging within Dole’s agriculture operations and supply chain.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS/DUTIES OF THE POSITION

Responsible for delivering Dole plc’s annual carbon foot in coordination with divisions and third-party experts
Build relationships with key data collectors in all Dole’s division to engage, train, influence and help problem solve
Lead data cleaning, consolidation and input into carbon foot calculation tool
During reporting cycle, work with Dole’s sustainability consultants on reoccurring basis to project manage carbon foot tasks and advance other related work, from carbon collection kick-off to final third-party verification
Reference environmental standards and other reporting guidance like Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Protocol, ESRS standards, or other industry standards or best practices as needed
Refine and improve carbon accounting process with reference to good accounting practices, GHG Protocol and Dole’s Carbon Foot Inventory Management Plan
Develop presentation and visuals for final carbon foot for stakeholders
Work together with Corporate Sustainability Team to evaluate new carbon tools and other relevant advancements
Responsible for the CDP disclosures and other environmental reporting requirements
Tracks Dole environmental voluntary goals
Work with Corporate Sustainability team to collect data for internal targets including working in WWF’s Water Risk filter
Manage Dole’s Science Based Targets and on-going tracking and reporting
Support of customer related programs
Participate as Dole’s lead in project meetings, take notes, managing follow ups, advance work as necessary, informing stakeholders of progress or challenges
Manages environmental corporate projects or support divisional initiatives
Internal and external promotion of Dole environmental activities as needed
Promote Dole’s sustainability initiatives through differentmunication channels such as e-mail updates, social media posts, blogs, presentation or webinars to customers and sales team, and updates to (examples of initiatives could be Dole’s officeposting, Biodiversity “Biota” project, Dole’s CDP scores and what they mean and how we’ll improve, WWF banana waste project).
Other sustainability-related duties or projects as needed.
Required Skills

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES

5+ years of Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability related experience.
Direct experience in carbon foot ing and accounting – no scientific knowledge required
Track record in sustainability project management
Demonstrate understanding of key sustainability issues.
Strong experience working in Excel using Excel functions to be efficient in year over year and outlier analysis, spreadsheet consolidation, modeling large amounts of data, and overall data management
Strong attention to detail with ability to build and follow processes and track changes and improvements Work together with Corporate Sustainability Team to evaluate new carbon tools and other relevant advancements Demonstrate track record for data management and Corporate Sustainability reporting.
Produce industry experience a plus.
Excellent analytical and project management skills.
Ability to build and lead cross-functional project teams. Demonstrate skills and experience delivering group presentations.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure.
High level of motivation and the ability to work with limited supervision
Ability to solve problems with a high sense of ownership.
Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
Ability to interact with all levels of theanization.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to sit and use aputer for extended periods of time; ability to answer phones and utilize a variety of office equipment.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.

WORK HOUR & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
  • Full-time position of 40 hours per week, 8 hours each day from 8:30 to 5:30
  • Ability to work after regular office hours, weekends and overtime as needed
  • Ability to travel approximately 10% is required.
