This role ensures compliance with environmental standards, enhances operational efficiencies, and supports long-term corporate responsibility goals through strategic planning and cross-functional coordination. Their primary focus will be to oversee corporate sustainability initiatives, optimize energy use, ensure facility maintenance standards, and manage the corporate vehicle fleet across the Tops Markets portfolio.

Key responsibilities include:

Sustainability Leadership- develop and implement sustainability initiatives aligned with corporate environmental and social responsibility goals. Represent Tops Markets on the Topco Sustainability Committee and other industry platforms. Track and report on key environmental metrics, ensuring compliance with local, state and federal regulations. Energy Management- monitor utility usage (ie. Electricity, natural gas, propane) across all locations to identify reduction opportunities. Lead energy efficiency initiatives and manage rebate/ incentive programs in collaboration with utility providers. Work closely with facilities and operations teams to implement energy-saving technologies and practices. Property Maintenance Oversight- manage facility maintenance at Tops Corporate Headquarters. Oversee contracts for landscaping, snow removal, paving and general property upkeep. Serve as liaison with landlords for leased properties, ensuring maintenance responsibilities are met. Fleet Operations- oversee the corporate fleet, including vehicle acquisition, maintenance scheduling, compliance, and cost control. Ensure fleet operations are efficient, safe, and aligned with company policies and sustainability goals. Coordinate with internal departments and external vendors to maintain high standards of service and accountability.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Sustainability, Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field. 5+ years of experience in sustainability, energy management, or facility operations; fleet oversight experience preferred. Strong knowledge of sustainability practices, energy efficiency strategies, and environmental compliance. Proven ability to manage multiple vendors and service contracts.  Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office and similar with reporting tools or energy tracking platforms. Valid driver’s license, ability to travel to store and facility locations as needed.
