ABM Industries is seeking a Senior Field Technician NETA IV orNICET preferred to join our Electrical Power Solutions team. TheSenior Technician is responsible for the safe and efficientinstallation and testing of electrical power distribution equipmentfor customers in the assigned territory. In this role, you willtravel approximately 90% of the time, working both independentlyand with a crew, and handle the performance and management ofroutine, moderately complex, and complex tasks and projects,record-keeping, evaluation of test data, and preparation of fieldservice reports. Observe testing, assign work on projects to capable technicians,ensure testing of similar items is consistent across testtechnicians Track project scope completion and communicate ABM andCustomer Management Maintain, test, repair, rebuild, and replacelow, medium, and high-voltage switchgear and circuit breakers.
Troubleshoot automatic transfer switches. Test and inspect low,medium, and high-voltage cable installations. Maintain, test, andrepair transformers and related equipment. Test and calibratesolid-state and electromechanical relays. Perform relay calibrationand power metering. Conduct low and medium-voltage motor controlcenter and contractor testing. Start-up, troubleshoot, and repairgenerator controls and transfer schemes. Test and commissionprotection and control systems on high voltage substations. Sampleand interpret insulated fluids. Complete Job Hazard Analysesincluding but not limited to arc-flash and shock analyses Reviewand submit timecards, expense, and project reports. Document testresults and complete field reports. Rotate emergency on-call duty.
Maintain strict compliance with regulatory laws Assist in the salesprocess acting as the technical expert in electrical testing andmaintenance of electrical equipment Qualifications Must have aminimum of 5 years’ experience in electrical testing. Hold acurrent NETA Level IV, or NICET equivalent, certificationequivalent experience will be considered. The candidate should haveexperience working in and leading a small team Experience in orcapable of managing medium to large-sized (multi-month) projectsFamiliar with NETA Acceptance and Maintenance Testing StandardsFamiliar with NFPA70E Electrical Safety standards Ability totroubleshoot electrical performance deficiencies (e.g. groundfault) Ability to travel regionally and nationally 90% Skilled intesting digital relays (SEL 700G or comparable) Skilled in usingEnoserv RTS Must be knowledgeable in lockout/tag out and hazardousenergy control procedures. Clean Driving Record Familiarizationwith Megger and Omnicron test equipment is a plus PreferredQualifications Must have experience in an electrical testingenvironment.
