Location:
Tampa, Florida Job Duties:
Develop future traffic projections following agency-specific methodologies and procedures.
Create and screen improvement alternatives.
Perform traffic operation analyses of arterial networks, corridor signal synchronization/timing, and freeway corridors using traffic simulation packages.
Draft technical memorandums for Engineer/Planners review.
Interpret traffic signal timing plans.
Develop, track, and modify project schedules.
Assist project managers with project organizational duties, including coordination with teaming partners and clients.
Teach and mentor entry-level staff.
Perform data analysis and literature review support for planning and research projects.
Manage small projects or lead discrete tasks in larger projects.
Salary from: $124,925.00 / year
Education:
Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, or a closely related engineering field (foreign equivalent acceptable); and
Experience:
3 years’ post-bachelor’s experience as a Transportation Analyst, Engineer, Engineering Associate, Associate Engineer or similar position.
Skills/Requirements:
Must hold Florida Professional Engineer (PE) License.
1 year experience in each of the following:
Traffic signal retiming projects including collecting, analyzing, assessing, and interpreting data, conditions, and systems.
Developing strategies for improving arterial traffic flow and safety and analyzing system performance measurement tools.
Working with GIS in analyzing data and preparing informative graphics.
Working on transportation System Management & Operations (TSM&O) & Integrated Corridor Management (ICM) projects. 3 years’ experience in each of the following:
Performing macro/micro simulation analysis using Synchro/SimTraffic traffic analysis software packages.
Conducting travel time and safety analysis.
ing national guides including: Highway Capacity Manual, Highway Safety Manual, Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices, AASHTO A Policy on Geometric Design of Highway and Streets on transportation projects.
Conducting traffic operations analysis and preparing reports using guidance from traffic analysis handbook, NCHRP Signal Timing Manual & FDOT’s Traffic Engineering Manual. All experience, skills and requirements may be gained concurrently.
