We are seeking an experienced Senior Traffic Engineer to join our Florida team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in delivering innovative traffic planning and engineering solutions that enhance our communities. You will perform various traffic planning assignments, including traffic impact studies, travel time studies, interchange studies, intersection studies, and corridor studies. You will also participate in business development activities, helping to identify and secure new projects. As our Senior Traffic Engineer, you will serve as a project manager or task lead on planning projects and PD&E (Project Development and Environment) studies. Additionally, you will provide technical expertise and guidance to junior staff, ensuring high-quality deliverables. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, you will develop comprehensive traffic solutions and stay up to date with industry standards and best practices in traffic engineering.

Here’s What You’ll Do:

Prepare and review Interchange Justification Reports (IFR), Interchange Modification Reports (IMR), and Interchange Operational Analysis Reports (IOAR).
Conduct and evaluate safety improvement studies to enhance traffic safety.
Perform comprehensive traffic impact studies to assess the effects of new developments on existing transportation systems.
Prepare and review signal warrant studies to determine the need for traffic signal installations.
Conduct traffic operation and Level of Service (LOS) analysis to ensure optimal traffic flow and efficiency.
Review conceptual designs and prepare detailed corridor analysis reports.
Attend design review meetings and collaborate with clients and consultant partners to ensure project success.
Provide in-house support to clients, like FDOT, offering expert guidance and technical assistance as needed. This is a hybrid role. Ideally, you will work from a local Jacobs office or the client’s office on average 2 days per week. This position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship. Here’s what you’ll need
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license.
A minimum of 6 years of experience in traffic planning and engineering and project management.
Proven experience in providing planning services on Strategic Intermodal System (SIS) and SIS Connectors.
Proficiency in transport and traffic modeling/analysis using platforms such as Synchro and HCS.
