Roadway Chief Engineer

Your Primary Responsibilities will include
Provide technical leadership and design expertise for multi-discipline transportation projects, including complex limited-access facilities.
Direct engineering evaluations, including data collection, analysis, and alternative solutions assessment.
Oversee project delivery, ensuring compliance with FDOT, AASHTO, and applicable standards.
Perform technical reviews (QA/QC) of roadway design calculations, plans, reports, and specifications to ensure high-quality deliverables complying with applicable criteria.
Support the construction phase of projects, including responding to RFIs, reviewing shop drawings, and providing problem-solving guidance.
Train and mentor junior engineers, fostering professional growth within the roadway team.
What you’ll need
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
Professional Engineer (PE) license in Florida.
15+ years of experience in roadway engineering, including design, project management and construction support for limited access, interstate and toll road projects.
Working knowledge of Bentley OpenRoads Designer (ORD).
Strong understanding of FDOT and AASHTO design criteria, guidelines, and specifications.
Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams on complex transportation projects.
Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and time management skills.
