Job Description
Drainage Engineer (PE) – Transportation / Roadway – Orlando, Tallahassee, Tampa or Jacksonville, FL Halff has an immediate opening for a Drainage Engineer, with their Florida PE License, to join our Transportation / Roadway team in one of our Florida office locations (Orlando, Tallahassee, Tampa or Jacksonville). The ideal candidate will bring civil engineering design experience with a focus on delivering projects for the drainage design of FDOT roadway projects. Expertise in FDOT OpenRoads Designer CONNECT Edition
Charge over multiple drainage projects
Work with the Florida Transportation Practice Leader and Roadway Design Team
Design of stormwater management systems, storm drain systems, open channel conveyance, culvert analysis, bridge hydraulics and floodplain compensation
Prepare permit applications and documentation for regulatory agency approval
Reviewing and certifying projects or the work of others
Ability to direct and mentor younger staff
Assist in the strategy planning and growth of the Florida Transportation Practice
Meeting with clients, contractors, reviewing agency personnel and maintaining professional relationships
What you will need:
Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent Engineering degree
Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in civil, public works or transportation project delivery
Professional Engineer (PE) License in the state of Florida
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
The candidate should have a positive attitude, be self-directed yet a team player and a person of high character with a focus on quality, integrity and success
