Project Manager – Transportation / Roadway Engineer (PE) – Tampa, Orlando, or Tavares, Florida Halff has an opening for a Civil Engineer, with their Florida Professional Engineer (PE) License, to be our Project Manager on our Florida Transportation team in one of our Tampa, Tavares, or Orlando, Florida offices. The ideal candidate will bring civil engineering design experience with a focus on delivering and/or managing projects for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT). Candidates experience should include leading technical approach and delivery of roadway tasks, and/or leading delivery of transportation design projects for FDOT, with Districts 1, 5 and 7 preferable. Works under a Transportation Team Leader in the development of roadway design projects for the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT)
Works closely with the other design staff, consultants, and clients to deliver projects that contribute to the growth and safety of Texas roadways
Manages transportation projects or tasks in support of business needs
Assists in managing the workload of design staff including other Engineers, EIT’s, and technical staff
Assists in development and management of project scopes, budgets, and schedules
Reviews transportation designs and detailed plans for accuracy and consistency
Reports on project progress
Collaborates with clients and other consultants
Works with the Transportation Team Leader and Operations Manager in business development activities
What you will need:
Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent Engineering degree
A minimum of 10 years of experience in civil, public works or transportation project delivery, with at least 6 years post PE License preferred
Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) experience
Professional Engineer (PE) License in the State of Florida
Ability to lead a project and supervise technical staff
Demonstrated ability to design and review in MicroStation
Ability to design, oversee and review roadway projects for FDOT and local municipalities
Manage multiple projects
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
