DescriptionBuilding Enclosure Consultant We are seeking a Building Enclosure Consultant with provenexpertise in the design, analysis, and repair of buildingenclosures. You will join our team of architects and engineers,working in a multi-discipline, collaborative, and engagingteam-based environment. The ideal candidate for this position will be energetic andpassionate about design, committed to quality, engaged in team,office, and firm-wide initiatives, able to work independently andin a team environment, an enthusiastic mentor for other designstaff, and able to prioritize work.

General Responsibilities:
Technical project execution, including performing and trainingothers in hands-on field investigations; applying sound judgmentand a deep understanding of governing codes, design guidelines, andvarious building enclosure systems for analysis, detailing, andrepair design; preparing technically excellent client deliverables;and providing high-quality reviews of work by others Performing condition assessments and construction site visits,which may include documenting existing conditions, performanceevaluation, and field testing, collecting data and samples,troubleshooting details, and observing buildings underconstruction Collaboration with multi-discipline project teams, includingproviding expertise for a variety of building envelope-relatedprojects (e.g., roofing, waterproofing, curtain wall,fenestrations, troubleshooting of existing envelope systems,enclosure commissioning (BECx), and/or specialty consulting of newenclosure systems from design through construction) Authoring site visit reports, standalone technical reports, andcontributing to project basis of design documentation Review and interpretation of architectural drawings, shopdrawings, specifications, and related documents to support peerreviews and consulting activities Specifying project building enclosure commissioningrequirements Contributing to project scoping and fee proposals, maintainingproject schedules and budgets, and managing client expectations anddeliverables Mentoring and sharing knowledge with colleagues, providingquality control reviews with helpful feedback, contributing toprocess improvement and knowledge sharing sessions Education, Technology, and Experience Registered Architect (RA) or Professional Engineer (PE) ispreferred; related professional certifications such as RegisteredRoof Consultant/Observer, Registered Exterior WallConsultant/Observer, Registered Waterproofing Consultant, andCertified Building Enclosure Commissioning Provider will beconsidered in lieu of professional licensure, with relevantexperience Bachelor’s degree or better in Architecture, ArchitecturalEngineering, Building Science, Civil Engineering, or relatedfield Minimum six years of cumulative industry experience, includingsignificant technical experience in architectural detailing ofbuilding envelope systems, roofing systems, and waterproofingsystems. This experience should include a diverse assortment ofenclosure types, materials, and interface detailing. Knowledge ofbuilding science fundamentals and advanced applications isrequired, including condensation and moisture control, air barrierdesign, materials selection, and thermal bridgingmitigation Established experience with some or all of the followingmaterials and systems: facades, curtain walls, fenestration/glazingsystems, sealants and coatings, insulation, air barriers, claddingassemblies, low-slope roofing, steep-slope roofing, below-gradewaterproofing, plaza/terrace waterproofing, traffic coatings, greenroofs Effective technical, graphical, written, and verbalcommunication skills Demonstrated competence in transitioning quickly betweenmultiple priorities while maintaining effective coworker and clientrelationships
