Position OverviewHDR is seeking aSenior Traffic Engineer to join our South Carolina AreaTransportation Business Group. This role can be based inCharleston, Columbia, Greenville, or Fort Mill.
Responsibilitiesinclude:
Leading a team of engineers and EITs on traffic-relatedprojects such as capacity analysis, traffic forecasting, simulationmodeling, roadway and signal design, transit support, andmore. Serving as a Task Lead or Project Manager as needed. Conducting operational traffic analysis using various modelingtools. Analyzing intersections, roundabouts, arterials, and freewaysegments. Participating in traffic signal design and timing projects,including drafting plans, field visits, and cost estimates. Providing technical support to junior staff. Continuously developing skills and industry knowledge. Performing other duties as required.
PreferredQualifications Master’s degree in Civil Engineering (preferred). Experience in toll roads, roadway design, or construction (aplus). Licensure such as PTOE or RSP (preferred). Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Synchro/Sim Traffic, HCS,Vissim/Visum, ArcGIS, TransModeler, AutoCAD, and MicroStation. Ability to multitask across multiple projects. Local candidates preferred.
Required Qualifications Minimum of 10 years’ experience in ITS and traffic engineeringfor various highway types. Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license. Knowledge of transportation regulations. Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Experience with traffic analysis software. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Active participation in our employee-owned culture required.
