Job Description

Senior Quality Engineer Company:

The Boeing Company Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Quality Engineer to join our team located in Huntsville, AL. This position will be responsible as senior engineer for quality and be responsible for working process line validations, set up of production line, Internal Boeing Notices (IBNs), providing Notice of Escape (NOE) and establishing second source suppliers. Successful candidates will have a strong technical background with previous experience as a Quality Engineer with manufacturing experience in establishing second source suppliers and First Article Inspection (FAI).

Position Responsibilities:

Leads integration of contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements into all aspects of proposals and program processes and documentation. Provides interpretation of complex requirements. Develops quality metrics, design and production certification plans for large programs to ensure compliance with contractual, Company and regulatory requirements. Develops Quality criteria to support supplier selection activities. Leads various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs. Develops and selects methods for analysis, testing and audit to ensure manufacturing and test readiness. Assists in development of new standards repairs for non-conformances. Analyzes non-conformance trends to evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions. Develops and implements corrective actions. Performs benchmarking and other forms of advanced analysis to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved. Works under minimal direction. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location. This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Bachelor’s or higher from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. 5 years of experience in Quality Management Systems (QMS) 5+ years of experience working with Quality Standards such as

ISO 9001, AS9100, ISO 14000

3+ years of experience in aerospace, fabrication, or manufacturing 3+ years of experience reading engineering blueprints/drawings 3+ years of experience leading or managing Corrective Actions or Root Cause Analysis Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Active U.S. Security Clearance (Secret or higher) 3+ years of experience working as a Quality Engineer 1+ year of experience with First Article Inspections (i.e. AS9102) Experience in the application / deployment of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) or AS9145 within organizations Experience in the aerospace industry
