Job Description
Quality Assurance Engineer 3.8 3.8 out of 5 stars Troy, AL 36081 We are seeking a highly motivated Quality Engineer to lead initiatives in maintaining and improving product quality. This role involves investigating non-conformance reports (NCRs), driving root cause analysis, implementing corrective actions, and reducing Scrap, Rework, and Repair (SRR) rates. You will also be responsible for minimizing customer quality escapes and ensuring compliance with quality standards throughout the product lifecycle.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading efforts to ensure adherence to AS9100 and
ISO 9001
standards in a manufacturing environment. Maintaining effective communication with internal and external stakeholders, including DCMA (Defense Contract Management Agency). Collaborating with Engineering, Operations, and Procurement teams to resolve quality issues. Supporting supplier quality assurance efforts to ensure high-quality materials and components. Conducting process improvement initiatives using methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma. Addressing product safety and EH&S (Environmental, Health, and Safety) requirements. Developing and implementing strategies to prevent non-conformance through mistake proofing and process audits. This position is ideal for someone passionate about driving excellence in aerospace manufacturing quality processes while working in a customer-focused environment. Minimum Requirements U.S.
Citizenship Education:
BS degree with 9-15 years of experience or MS degree with 7-13 years of experience. A self-starter with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with minimal supervision. Proven experience in performing root cause analysis and implementing effective corrective actions. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Excellent communication skills, with the ability to structure, prepare, and deliver clear communications to all organizational levels. Minimum of three years of experience in a manufacturing environment. Desired Skills Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline. Background in ISO 9001 and AS9100 standards. Five to ten years of experience in manufacturing quality control, including root cause investigations, mistake proofing, and project management.
