The facility processes copper concentrateprimarily from Arizona copper mines and serves as the mostsignificant source of sulphuric acid for North American leachingoperations. Job Description As the Chief Reliability Engineer, you will work under limitedsupervision to plan, organize, manage, and evaluate designatedengineering projects and programs, ensuring all phases arecompleted successfully within appropriate timeframes and budgets.
You will supervise, enhance, and monitor designated engineeringpractices for the site while providing expert technical guidance tothe site management team. Your responsibilities will include reporting environmentalcompliance issues, investigating and developing recommendations forengineering projects, and potentially serving as Project Manager ortechnical expert on large/complex site construction, expansion, ormodification projects. You will also evaluate and administer vendorcontracts for services and equipment and contribute to sitestrategic planning and budgeting efforts. The ideal candidate will bring advanced engineering knowledge,strong project management skills, and the ability to effectivelylead and develop teams in a complex industrial environment. Duties and Responsibilities Plan, organize, manage, and evaluatedesignated engineering projects and programs. Supervise, enhance,and monitor designated engineering practices for the site. Reportenvironmental compliance issues and make recommendations toappropriate site management. Supervise or review, investigate, anddevelop appropriate recommendations regarding planned engineeringprojects. Serve as Project Manager or technical expert onlarge/complex site construction, expansion, or modificationengineering projects. Provide guidance and counsel to the sitemanagement team on applicable programs, practices, andexisting/proposed regulations. Evaluate and administer contractswith vendors for services and equipment. Contribute to sitestrategic planning and budgeting efforts for designated engineeringareas. Represent the site on company-sponsored steering teams.
Follow safety practices and recognize hazards in the workenvironment. Required Experience/Skills Bachelor’s degree in an Engineeringdiscipline and seven (7) years of experience in Engineering orrelated scientific field, including lead or supervisory experience,OR Master’s degree in an Engineering discipline and five (5) yearsof experience in Engineering or related scientific field, includinglead or supervisory experience. Advanced knowledge of theprinciples and practices of Engineering. Ability to research andanalyze complex information and draw valid conclusions. Skilled inmanaging large/complex engineering projects. Ability to develop andmaintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
Skilled in supervising, evaluating, training, and motivatingemployees. Excellent communication skills, both oral andwritten. Nice-to-Haves CMRP Certification (Certified Maintenance ℜliability Professional). Experience in mining or metallurgicaloperations. Knowledge of copper smelting processes. Experience withenvironmental compliance in heavy industry.
Education:
