While reporting to the Senior Director, Engineering, RPC North America, you will provide Engineering, project, and processing support to our A&S (Adhesives and Sealants) facilities in Orlando, FL, Winchester, KY and Hanover, PA. The successful candidate must work closely with the Plant Managers, Plant Engineers, Engineering peers, Technicians, and plant personnel to drive productivity in key metrics, maintenance excellence, equipment and engineering solutions. This person will lead major projects, act as a safety champion, support continuous improvement efforts, and sometimes assist in day-to-day engineering and maintenance needs. This position will be located in the Orlando, FL facility and will require 25% – 50% travel.
What You’ll Be Doing:
You will work on large and small scale initiatives with minimal supervision.
You will actively support maintenance excellence programs with all facilities.
You will maintain a broad working knowledge of Sonoco’s processes, products, and machinery.
You will act as project leader of assigned major capital projects and be responsible for all aspects of project management (budget, schedule control, status reporting, customer interface, performance to design objectives, etc.).
You will evaluate new technology and make rmendations for alternative equipment and process systems; to include vendor visits and selection.
You will help local plant management identify skill gaps of maintenance employees and participate in the testing and evaluations of maintenance candidates.
You must be willing to work the hours necessary toplete objectives which may include weekends, extended hours, and travel away from home.
You will monitor spending on projects to stay within project limits.
We’d love to hear from you if:
You have a BS degree in Engineering with a concentration in mechanical or plastics.
You have at least five years manufacturing experience in the plastics industry, preferably injection molding and profile extrusion. You have hands-on implementation experience with injection mold processing and troubleshooting.
You have strongputer skills (Microsoft Office Suite, CAD, project management software, etc.).
You have experience working with hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, automation, and PLC’s.
You have prior Project Management experience.
Compensation:
The salary range for this role is $116,160 to $130,680, plus annual target bonus of 7.5% of base salary.
This is a progression experience and level will be based on candidate experience and business needs
