Quality Engineer F&P Georgia Rome, GA 30161 JOB
SUMMARY MAJOR DUTIES
Understand the Critical Quality Characteristics and Critical Processes related to assigned products and processes, maintain and update, PQCT, PFMEA and kakotora records as needs, and increase the quality assurance level of the processes. Analyze both in-process defects and customer issues, develop a prioritized defect reduction plan and take corrective action on identified issues. Check QC check sheets and CMM data periodically (using statistical analysis methods) and link them to accurate quality records and preventive measures. Provide training and guidance to the Quality Technicians in your section. Summarize the plan vs. actual results of your assigned products and processes every month and report to management. Coordinate activities with New Model Group for the preparation of PPAP data and documentation to ensure that all of the required documentation is submitted within the specified timeframe. Direct and coordinate the activities of associates engaged in the quality control of product. Inspect materials, products, or equipment to detect defects or malfunctions. Observe work and other indicators to ensure that operators conform to quality standards. Interpret specifications, blueprints, job orders, and company policies and procedures for workers. Assist departments with visual aids for product knowledge. Participate in the meetings and discussions relating to quality issues and involvement as required. Review (and/or make) quality reports and documents for accuracy and timely disposition. Review (and/or make) PFMEA and PQCT for accuracy and timely disposition. Participate in Customer/supplier QAV as required. Assist in obtaining departmental business plan objectives. Analyze statistical data and product specifications to determine standards and establish quality and reliability objectives of finished product. Apply statistical methods and perform mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, staff requirements, and production standards. Coordinate quality control objectives and activities to resolve production problems, maximize product reliability, and minimize cost. Draft and design layout of equipment, materials, and workspace to illustrate maximum efficiency using drafting tools and computer.

BS/BA Degree (Engineering discipline preferred)

experience preferred Lean Manufacturing/JIT Environment Experience Automotive Industry Experience Preferred 3-5
