Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for aPrincipal Systems Engineer / Sr. Principal Systems Engineer-Reliability to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals.

This position will be located onsite in Melbourne, FL.

EssentialFunctions:

Perform R&M allocations and predictions Develop Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA)analysis Perform Built In Test (BIT) testability analysis Develop mission reliability analysis Support the development of teams in the investigation ofissues Familiarity with Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) Experience with Failure Reporting Analysis and CorrectiveAction System (FRACAS) Experience with maintainability demonstrations Experience with Highly Accelerated Life Testing (HALT),Reliability Growth Testing (RGT), and Environmental StressScreening (ESS) Liaison with Integrated Product Teams (IPT) and suppliers forthe R&M of assigned subsystemsYou should thrive in a fast-pacedwork environment with high expectations, significantly diverseassignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels. Youmust be able to collaborate closely with system engineers, hardwaredesigners, and integration/test engineers. The engineer maydevelop, coordinate and conduct technical reliability studies andevaluations of engineering design concepts and design ofexperiments (DOE) constructs. Recommend design or test methods andstatistical process control procedures for achieving requiredlevels of product reliability. Compile and analyze performancereports and process control statistics; investigate and analyzerelevant variables potentially affecting product and processes.

Ensure that corrective measures meet acceptable reliabilitystandards. Analyze preliminary plans and develop reliabilityengineering programs to achieve company, customer and governmentalagency reliability objectives. May develop mathematical models toidentify units, batches or processes posing excessive failurerisks. As necessary, propose changes in design or formulation toimprove system and/or process reliability. May determine unitsand/or batches requiring environmental testing and specify minimumnumber of samples to obtain statistically valid data.

BasicQualifications Principal Engineer:

Bachelor’s Degree in a Science,Technology, Engineering or Mathematics discipline from anaccredited university and 5 years of engineering experience ORMaster’s Degree in STEM and 3 years of engineering experience ORPhD with 2 years of engineering experience.

Experience inReliability and Maintainability disciplineYour ability to transferand maintain the final adjudicated government Secret clearance, andany program access(es) required for the position within areasonable period of time, as determined by the company.

BasicQualifications Sr Principal Engineer:

Bachelor’s Degree in aScience, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics discipline from anaccredited university and 9 years of engineering experience ORMaster’s Degree in STEM and 7 years of engineering experience ORPhD with 5 years of engineering experience.

Experience inReliability and Maintainability disciplineYour ability to transferand maintain the final adjudicated government Secret clearance, andany program access(es) required for the position within areasonable period of time, as determined by the company.

PreferredQualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace orElectrical Engineering or similar Engineering Degree.

Minimum 5years of experience within Reliability and Maintainabilitydiscipline.

Excellent 2-way communication skills (upward anddownward).Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and theability to interface with all levels of employees andmanagement.

Active, In scope DoD Top Secret or SCI clearance.

SalaryRange:

$95,300 – $142,900Salary Range 2: $118,600 – $178,000Theabove salary range represents a general guideline; however,Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determiningbase salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of theposition and the candidate’s experience, education, skills andcurrent market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees maybe eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionarybonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed toreward individual contributions as well as allow employees to sharein company results. Employees in Vice President or Directorpositions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
