Job Description
Quality Engineer Near Chattanooga, TN On-site | Manufacturing | Full-Time Join a leading manufacturing team just outside Chattanooga, TN, where quality drives everything we do. As a Quality Engineer , you’ll play a critical role in strengthening product integrity, resolving production challenges, and shaping our continuous improvement efforts. What You Will Do:
Identify and troubleshoot quality and production issues to ensure consistent product performance. Lead quality initiatives including FMEA, PPAP, SPC, and root cause/failure analysis. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve internal quality concerns and customer complaints. Develop, implement, and maintain inspection standards for service parts. Drive improvements in supplier quality performance through effective communication and corrective action. Support internal, customer, and IATF audits—owning audit readiness and continuous compliance. Track and analyze internal and external PPM metrics; identify trends and implement corrective actions. Mentor and support Quality Technicians and coordinate closely with operations and engineering. Engage in Kaizen and continuous improvement efforts focused on reducing scrap, improving first-pass yield, and driving key performance indicators.
What You Need:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field . 2 years of experience in a quality engineering or quality systems role. Strong working knowledge of quality tools: FMEA, 8D, Root Cause Analysis, CAPA. Hands-on experience with inspection equipment, ERP systems, QMS, MES, or other manufacturing quality systems. Background in automotive manufacturing strongly . Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
