We are seeking a Hardware Quality Engineer with hands-on hardware quality experience to become a key part of Operations Quality on 2nd shift. Here at Raytheon, our Operations Quality Team assures product and process quality with an emphasis on Product Compliance, Customer Satisfaction and Continuous Improvement. This role will provide a shift differential of 8% for 2nd shift hours worked. (2:00 PM – 10:30 PM)

What You Will Do:

Baseline factory metrics (scrap, rework, FPY, etc.), identify top drivers, forecast future demand for top drivers and identify areas of opportunity for improvement assuring clear identification, control, and disposition of nonconformities. Engage and support shop floor personnel and manufacturing defect prevention teams to ensure alignment on top priorities (using baseline data and future forecast). These tools are used to drive and facilitate compliance resolution, containment, Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action Implementation within closed loop process controls. Perform process walks, operator observations, and lead manufacturing team discussions to drive process enhancements to reduce variation. Lead/Drive Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) initiatives (PFMEA, control Plans, SPC, etc.) using baseline metrics and future demand with the ability to perform verification/validation of improvements and efficiencies to facilitate defect prevention. Integrate product and process verifications such as First Articles and audits throughout value stream processes to prevent quality escapes, optimize throughput and assure on-time delivery of products and services. High degree of interaction with operators, test engineering, process engineering and operations staff, requiring effective organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.

Qualifications You Must Have:

Typically requires a Bachelor of Science in Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) or other technical field of study, and a less than (1) year of Quality Engineering or related industry experience Manufacturing process experience (assembly, fabrication, inspection, test) Previous experience working directly with production hardware Experience in leading or participating in Root Cause Corrective Action, implementing corrective and preventative actions Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer:

Demonstrated knowledge of key process characteristics and ability to implement effective process control techniques. Able to facilitate cross-functional teams in systematic improvement activities (e.g. 6-sigma, lean manufacturing) Experience with data analysis, analyzing raw data and developing relevant visual aids (Pivot Tables, paretos, charts) Strong familiarity with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 quality management systems Strong familiarity with

Onsite:

Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products. The salary range for this role is 55,000 USD – 107,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
