Job Description
- Role Purpose
- To be the technical resource for Quality within the GKN assembly plant. Problem solving expert focused on prevention of the issues through process improvements. Cross Functional Team member to implement the process/product changes following APQP process and in compliance with internal GKN procedures.
- Key Responsabilities
- + Lead problem solving team to analyze and resolve internal/external issues.
+ Lead scrap reduction and process improvement projects with other functions. + Participate in Design Reviews, PFMEA and Conrol Plan development and plan appropriate actions to reduce RPN. + Evaluate Process Change Requests and implement the changes through
PPAP / PTR
per GKN standrads and customer requirements. + New product and process launch validation through APQP. + Understand process variation and take preventive measures. + Manage Product/Process Deviation requests and work with customers for approval. + Perform compliance and system effectiveness audits to insure adherence to company policies, procedures and customer specific requirements. + Work with Supplier Quality group to resolve supplier related issues to ensure defect free product. + Ensure compliance to IATF Standards & other Customer Specific Requirements. + Evaluate and report progress of team toward established goals and objectives. + Track and Report Quality KPIs for the respective area / customer. + Train associates in both theory and application of quality tools such as statistics, inspection methods, problem solving, process analysis and improvement. + Keep abreast of new developments and techniques within the quality field. + Organize and present data to management for decision making. + Resolve disputes with internal and external customer involving product quality. + Respond to customer inquires concerning product, service and deliveries. + Participate in technical discussions with both customers and suppliers. + Provide input to department budget and work to control costs. + Comply with all company and departmental policies and procedures.
- Qualification and Skills
- 1. Three to five years experience working as a Quality Engineer with knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes. 2. Excellent Problem Solving Skills (Shainin preferred) 3. Extensive knowledge of AIAG Core Tools 4. OEM / Tier 1 experience
- Preferred 5. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. 6. Extensive knowledge of Statistical Analysis Tools. 7. Excellent computer skills with working knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint 8. Certified Quality Engineer

Knowledge of
