Quality Engineer Job Description The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring the implementation, proper execution, and maintenance of quality control plans and procedures. This role involves monitoring activities related to continuous improvement through appropriate indicators of internal and external quality. The Quality Engineer is tasked with ensuring the quality of manufacturing measurement systems, fulfilling customer-specific requirements applicable to Engineering and Operations, and overseeing the proper implementation of new products and processes prior to their release to manufacturing. Responsibilities Implement and maintain quality control plans and procedures. Monitor continuous improvement activities using internal and external quality indicators. Ensure quality of manufacturing measurement systems. Fulfill customer-specific requirements related to Engineering and Operations. Oversee the implementation of new products and processes before release to manufacturing. Conduct root cause analysis and provide solutions. Perform audits and ensure compliance with ISO standards. Collaborate with the supplier quality division to provide necessary information. Lightly manage two hourly associates, ensuring they stay on task. Manage visual display management tools and perform inspections. Track and enter data into SPC charts and resolve line issues. Essential Skills Engineering degree required. 5+ years of experience in quality engineering or quality assurance. Practical experience in manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of
ISO16949
standards. Experience with PPAP and SPC. Ability to drive tasks to closure. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in dashboarding of quality metrics. Knowledge of nonconformance management. Cross-functional experience. Strong project management skills. Plumbing experience is a plus but not required. Work Environment The position is onsite in Sanford, with occasional visits to a distribution center in Lumberton. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 7 AM to 4:30 PM, including preparation for early morning meetings. The role supports a daily walkaround from 9 to 11 AM, requiring tasks to be updated and ready.
