Role:

This position is for a Quality Engineer in a Tier-I automotive manufacturing plant. The position is responsible for maintaining complete Quality Management systems in compliance with

IATF 16949

standards and customer-specific requirements. The day-to-day job responsibilities, but not limited to Work with customers for quality assurance-related objectives like APQP, PPAP, IMDS, Control Plans, PFMEA, PFDs, and annual audits, including AIAG’s applicable CQI. Lead Continuous Improvement methods to improve process efficiency, quality of products, and achieve overall cost reductions. Lead, develop, and Maintain Quality Manuals and procedures periodically. Represent the plant as a Management Representative for Quality Management system certifications Work with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders in problem-solving, root cause analysis, and corrective actions per automotive industry requirements by using problem-solving tools like 8D, Fish Bone Diagrams, 5-Why, etc. Responsible for all

activities for current and future products being manufactured by the plant. Perform and maintain internal layered audits and annual internal audits. Responsible for conducting statistical capability studies, gage control, and Gage R&Rs. Supervise quality technicians in day-to-day quality assurance and control activities like incoming and outgoing inspections, as well as in layered audits and internal audits. Gather periodic plant performance data related to established quality objectives and coordinate periodic internal management review meetings.

Qualifications Required:

Minimum a bachelor’s degree in the area of manufacturing, or mechanical/industrial engineering. Prefer 3 years of Forging/Machining-related experience with an automotive Tier I supplier to OEMs, operating in an

IATF 16949

environment. Experience with

ISO/IATF

Quality Systems is required. An Internal Auditor certification is desirable. Knowledge of quality statistical concepts and robust problem-solving methodology. Six Sigma certification or equivalent experience is highly desirable. Should be proficient in using MS Office tools like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Exposure to metal forming manufacturing processes, including cold/warm/hot forgings or castings, will be preferred. Ability to program CMM using PC-DMIS software will be a plus.
