BASIC PURPOSE

• Quality Engineer manages QA support to the company for specific customers as assigned by the Quality Manager.

Makes decisions regarding customer quality and guides manufacturing in these decisions.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide quality engineering decisions regarding customer requirements (voice of the customer)
• Advise direction of inspectors to meet company or department goals and objectives
• Enforce & maintain product realization regarding quality requirements
• Prioritize customer work load(s)
• Contact customers regarding technical quality support
• CAPA and root cause analysis team leader
• Must be able to work outside normal working hours, overtime or alternate shifts to accommodate departmental needs when required.

NON-ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Housekeeping, filing and folder maintenance
• Updating control plans
• Gage and fixture design
• Recommend purchase of gages and other equipment for QA department use
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• BA or BS in engineering related field, or equivalent years of work experience Experience
• Experience in manufacturing, especially plastic injection molding is preferred Skills
• Good technical and mechanical skills.

Ability to interact with internal and external customers.
