Position Overview:
The Lead Testing & Validation Analyst plays a critical role in assessing the design and effectiveness of controls and issue remediation efforts across the organization. This position supports Independent Testing & Validation activities to ensure risks are appropriately mitigated and corrective actions are sustainable.
Essential Responsibilities:
(35%) Lead and execute testing and validation of issues and controls. Plan, coordinate, and perform independent testing to evaluate whether corrective actions and risk mitigation controls are effectively designed and operating as intended. (20%) Develop and maintain test scripts, methodologies, and documentation standards. Establish consistent procedures and frameworks for testing activities, ensuring repeatability, objectivity, and alignment with risk and control expectations. (15%) Provide credible challenge and guidance to business units on remediation and control effectiveness. Consult with stakeholders during remediation planning and issue resolution to ensure alignment with internal standards and risk appetite. (10%) Analyze results and prepare reporting to communicate test outcomes and validation status. Summarize findings and develop clear reporting to communicate validation outcomes, trends, and areas requiring management attention. (10%) Support continuous improvement of the testing and validation program. Contribute to the enhancement of testing tools, processes, and templates to improve efficiency, consistency, and insight. (10%) Monitor junior analysts and support training on testing standards. Provide subject matter expertise and mentoring to ensure consistent application of testing practices across the team. Required Education & Experience (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities): Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, risk management or related field (or equivalent work experience) 5+ years of relevant experience in risk management, audit, compliance or testing/validation roles. Strong understanding of control design, risk mitigation, and testing principles. Experience performing control or issue validation assessments, including evaluating evidence against defined criteria. Preferred Education & Experience (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities): Advanced degree (e.g., MBA or Master’s in Risk, Compliance, or related field) Professional certifications such as CRCM, CIA, CISA, or similar. Experience in financial institution or regulated industry. Demonstrated experience leading testing engagements or mentoring analysts.
Job Environment & Physical Requirements:
Hybrid work environment that supports a mix of in-office and remote work, with periodic in-person collaboration based on team or business needs. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks or projects with minimal supervision.
