Quality Engineer Type of Position:

12-month contract position initially (likely to end up direct hire long term).

Candidate Requirements:

This role is working for a major defense contractor. Candidates must be eligible to obtain a secret security clearance (please note, clearance isn’t required to start). Secret Clearance requires US Citizenship (and thus, that’s a requirement in this role). Permanent Residents (Green Card Holders) are NOT eligible for this role. Candidates on CPT, OPT, H1B or TN visas are also not eligible for this role. This company is NOT open to corp2corp (c2c) or corp2hire (c2h). Offer may be contingent upon passing a background check and a drug screen (drug screen would include Cannabis).

Job Location:

Hudson, NH (on site role, although long term we may consider candidates to convert to a hybrid capacity).

Compensation:

We are generally targeting $60.00/hr to $65.00/hr, but there may be some additional flexibility for well qualified candidates. Overtime is paid at 1.5x over 40 hours.

Benefits:

Available (health insurance, dental, vision, 401k, etc) – benefit eligibility will begin the 1st of the month after 30 days of employment.
This role will have 7 paid holidays and 5 days PTO (PTO accrues over time). In going direct hire, there will be significantly more PTO.

Job Description:

HRU Technical Resources has partnered with a company serving the aerospace and defense industry. We are seeking to hire a Quality Engineer for our facility in Hudson, NH. In this role, you will be pivotal in understanding, improving, and executing development, manufacturing, and supplier-related processes. Your efforts will support product delivery, enhance customer satisfaction, and meet internal business objectives. Collaborative partnerships with customers, internal departments, and sub-tier suppliers will be key to ensuring product quality.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with quality engineers, technicians, and inspectors throughout the product lifecycle—from development to continuous manufacturing support.
During product development, guide design for quality, manufacturability, and producibility, ensuring project quality plans meet customer standards and regulations.
Oversee the transition of products to manufacturing, acting as a technical interface and ensuring the implementation of quality plans.
Improve process capability, repeatability, efficiency, and product quality by working with engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and customers.
Identify opportunities for yield improvement, process enhancement, and cost-reduction methods.
Engage in failure analysis, develop troubleshooting and repair strategies, and create manufacturing process controls and documentation.
Lead and facilitate continuous improvement initiatives and manage root-cause and corrective action processes.
Prepare and present quality reviews and align improvement initiatives with customer satisfaction goals. Qualifications /

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline.
Familiarity with workmanship criteria (IPC-A-610, IPC

J-STD, MIL-STD-883

).
4+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, operations project management, or quality roles for complex electromechanical assemblies.
Experience with DoD programs and knowledge of AS9100 rev D in an aerospace environment.
Strong leadership skills with mentoring abilities and effective communication across organizational levels.
Knowledge of relevant quality standards and practices, manufacturing processes (soldering, machining, brazing/welding, painting, plating), and software tools (Agile PLM, Oracle, Solidworks, Jira, Jama).

Preferred:

Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
5 to 7+ years of experience is preferred. Work Environment /

Physical Requirements:

This role will be on a 9/80 schedule (9-hour days, every other Friday off). 8:00am to 6:00pm is our standard schedule.
