Preferred Qualifications:

Quality Engineer with 4+ years’experience who has a good understanding of GD&Trequirements. Qualifications

  • BS in a technical discipline.
  • Good understanding of GD&T requirements.
  • Familiarity with the following workmanship criteria:
IPC-A-610,IPC J-STD, MIL-STD-883
  • 5-7 years’ experience in a quality engineering role in amanufacturing engineering, operations project management, orquality position for complex electromechanical assemblies andsystems.
  • Experience working on Defense/DoD related programs ispreferred
  • Able to demonstrate knowledge of AS9100 rev D and working inaerospace environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to successfully mentorand coach others and communicate effectively with all levels of theorganization, including customers.
  • Knowledge of relevant quality standards, methods andpractices.
  • Knowledge of relevant manufacturing processes such as soldering,machining, brazing/welding, painting and plating.
  • Knowledge of line balancing, fault trees and statistical processcontrol would be a plus.
  • Experience with Agile PLM (or similar), Oracle, Solidworks, Jira,and Jama software is a plus.

This is a hands-on role that works with a team of qualityengineers, technicians and inspectors that are engaged through theentire life cycle of product, starting during development,continuing with transitioning of product to manufacturing, and thensupporting the continuous manufacture of product. Understand, improve, and tightly execute development, manufacturingand supplier related processes to support delivery of product,improve customer satisfaction, and achieve internal business goals.

Plan for and ensure the quality of product through collaborativepartnerships with customers, with internal departments, andsub-tier suppliers Description During product development, this role participates in guiding thedesign for quality, manufacturability and producibility, whileensuring project quality plans are compliant to the customers’requirements and applicable standards and regulations. After theinitial design and development is complete, transitioning theproduct to manufacturing is a critical aspect of this role. Thisrole ensures the implementation of the quality plan, becomes a keytechnical interface between engineering development and themanufacturing team, and provides metrics/feedback to theorganization on the NPI process, and leads improvement. During manufacturing, this role works to improve processcapability, repeatability, and efficiency as well as productquality. This is accomplished by working with engineering,manufacturing, suppliers and the customer. This role will focus ondelivering quality product that meets customer requirements,identifying opportunities for yield improvement, processimprovement, and product cost-reduction methods. An emphasis forthis role is developing/improving underlying business practices andprocesses to enable consistency, efficiency and ability toscale. This role will participate and/or lead failure analysis inmanufacturing and for field failures, develop troubleshooting &repair schemes, develop manufacturing process controls anddocumentation, interface with manufacturing and quality personnelto train and transfer processes & knowledge for successful volumeproduction launches, and engage with suppliers as needed to driveimprovement and implement process controls. Responsibilities

  • Promote adherence to the Quality Management System (AS9100), anddrive improvements.
  • Prevent defects through use of process, supplier, manufacturing,and quality controls.
  • Develop and implement product quality plans, PFMEA, controlplans
  • Ensure product compliance through a comprehensive set offunctional tests and inspections.
  • Lead the qualification of new suppliers and internalprocesses.
  • Understand sources of variation in the supply chain, manufacturing& test processes and control them.
  • Assist in the evaluation and improvement of manufacturingprocesses, through lean concepts and Six Sigma, while driving alean quality culture.
  • Lead a robust root-cause and corrective action process, workingwith engineering, suppliers and customers.
  • Oversee the effective review, implementation, and flow down ofchanges (ECOs) into manufacturing and the supply chain, includingmaterial disposition actions.
  • Drive efficient processing of customer RMAs, effective failureanalysis, and responsive communication to customers.
  • Interface and communicate with customers regularly, providingquality status as required.
  • Facilitate continuous improvement of product and process.
  • Monitor, measure and communicate metrics on a predictedcadence.
  • Prepare and deliver quality reviews with management, peer groupsand customers.
  • Review customer score cards and ensure alignment of improvementinitiatives to customer satisfaction; drive 8D correctiveaction.
