Job Description

Quality Engineer 3.9 3.9 out of 5 stars 180 Van Riper Avenue, Elmwood Park, NJ 07407 General Information In this role, the quality engineer will organize, coordinate the completion of, and submit all necessary documentation and forms for customer required part specific packages (UPPAP/VSE). They will be required to work with all levels of the organization to maintain the live documents of the UPPAP packages to ensure that all data is correct, complete and indicative of the current production processes. In addition to this, they will support the quality organization through several initiatives. Scope of Responsibilities Identify fixed frozen processes per UPPAP requirements and manage the initial approval and change approval for these frozen processes Compile and submit all required supplier documentation and forms for the required packages Provide status updates for the progress of packages and regularly track the status of each package (interim B approval, full approval, etc.) Identify the required package elements and ensure that all element forms and tools are completed correctly according to Pratt guidelines Work with planners, production, quality, and engineering to ensure that the package elements are completed in alignment with customer deadlines as well as Kreisler’s production schedule, impeding production flow as little as possible Work with planners, production, quality, and engineering to ensure that the various stages of the package approval are met within the customers given timeline Resubmit elements of the package when a major change in the production of the part requires approval by the customer Creation of Job Plans/Travelers/Routers Creation of Bill of Material Write and edit special process procedures, operating instructions. Continuous Improvement of the process and documentation Editing of documentation to capture changes in manufacturing method Any other assignments as requested by supervisor Support with quality initiatives such as (but not limited to): First Article Management Kaizen Events Quality clinic functions Customer Returns and investigations Internal investigations and containments Support with compliance initiatives including customer audits and industry audits (ie NADCAP) Ensuring that the Company is compliant with the standards and specification set forth by FAR and DFAR regulations

Additional Skills:

Trained in problem solving skills is important – 5 whys, fishbone diagram, six sigma, etc. Critical thinking skills as defined by recognizing a problem, creating a solution and implementing the solution. Project management skills – scheduling, working closely with different departments, time management. Able to interpret, understand and communicate customer technical requirements Able to handle multiple, diverse projects concurrently and achieve set goals Intermediate Math skills

Full-time Pay:

$75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
