JOB PURPOSE
The Quality Engineer plays a pivotal role in ensuring the standards of product quality and process efficiency. The position is integral to the development, implementation, and maintenance of robust quality systems that guarantee compliance with both internal and external standards. By leveraging data-driven problem-solving techniques and conducting thorough root cause analyses, the Quality Engineer drives continuous improvement initiatives that enhance product reliability and customer satisfaction. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, including Production, Research & Development, and Commercial, the Quality Engineer addresses quality concerns proactively and fosters a culture of excellence. The role is essential in supporting internal and external audits, maintaining comprehensive quality documentation, and participating in new product introduction and process validation activities. The Quality Engineer’s contributions are critical to achieving compliance with ISO 9001 and
IATF 16949
standards, leading quality improvement projects, and reducing the cost of poor quality (COPQ). Through training and mentorship, the Quality Engineer empowers operations staff with the knowledge and tools needed to uphold quality standards and drive continuous improvement.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Lead quality improvement projects such as RFT (Right First Time) and COPQ (Cost of Poor Quality) reduction. Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) for quality issues. Analyze quality data and trends to identify improvement opportunities. Support internal and external audits, including documentation and follow-up actions. Collaborate with Production, R D, commercial, QC, and QA teams to resolve quality concerns. Develop and maintain quality documentation, including control plans and inspection instructions. Participate in new product introduction (NPI) and process validation activities. Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and
IATF 16949
standards. Provide training on quality tools and procedures to operations staff. Ensure timely resolution of quality issues and escalate risks as needed. Report quality metrics and trends and recommend improvements.
Requirements for the role:
Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or technical discipline 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment. Strong understanding of quality systems, document control, and regulatory compliance. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and document management systems.
