The Senior Engineer, Fleet engineering – Blades will lead fleet performance management actions for Blade RCAs. This team provides wing to wing major product technical ownership on Blade related issues. They will own, execute and resolve RCAs related to Blades for ongoing and emerging issues within the core fleet.
They are responsible for driving sustained product improvement throughout our contracted fleet striving to build the worlds best running fleet. They will develop, own, implement, and support product quality initiatives across the global product. They will drive process improvement, closed loop lessons learned with our design segment partners across product life cycle.
Job Description
Essential Responsibilities
Wing to Wing product issue ownership for Blade RCA
Technical expertise in customer communications of product issues in Blades
Own, lead, execute, and resolve Critical and Minor RCAs in Blades
Facilitate fast track containment
Work with relevant Product Engineering teams (Blades, Systems engineering, Controls, System simulation) to dedicate the right resources to help execute and resolve RCAs in this segment.
Work with fleet performance teams to identify emerging issues and lead the efforts to pro actively address them.
Drive actions from RCA Kaizen to drive better and faster RCA completions
Coach the RCA team members on RCA process, problem solving, etc
Interface with the fleet performance team for RCA Support, Top Issues execution, etc
Leverage engagement with Quality, Supply Chain ,ONW Engineering, LM, Services and Projects teams to better prioritize RCA workstreams & share best practices
Represent FPM for key design tollgates for applicable RCA
Provide immediate learnings & feedback to our partner functions from RCA
Identify, daily manage, action plan, and problem solve product fleet quality and RCA KPIs in the Segment
Implement cross-segment RCA communication and approval process to ensure corrective actions taken in all appropriate spots
Own and support driving actions from Quality PSR countermeasures for assigned RCA
Drive problem solving tools and methods implementation throughout the RCA process.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
Minimum of 5 years experience in Wind turbine blade Engineering and/or Product Management
Minimum of 3 years experience managing global teams
Ability and willingness to travel globally up to 30% of the time
Eligibility Requirements:
Ability to work effectively in globally focused, culturally diverse and highly matrixed environments
Desired Characteristics:
Experience leading and executing RCAs including problem solving tools
Experience with Quality systems, procedure development, training, and execution
Experience with customer communications around both Quality and RCAs
Experience with Lean tools, coaching, running Kaizens, etc
Advanced degree in Engineering
The salary range for this position is $111,200 – $185,400 USD Annual. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus/variable incentive compensation. This posting is expected to close on May 22nd or thereafter.
