Morristown, TN Summary:

As Quality Engineer, you will support the AS9100 Quality Management System and be the technical specialist for the manufacturing process. In this role you will be interfacing with customers, production and management to ensure the quality of the finished product and its adherence to the AS9100 standard. This includes management of procedures, tracking customer complaints and returns, ensuring compliance to corrective actions, and more. You will also be the focal point for development of new products and raw material qualifications.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all Quality related functions and supervise 2-3 person Quality staff.
• Support, maintain and sustain

AS9100 QMS.

• Write, modify and implement procedures for all quality activities.
• Coordinate and maintain internal audit schedules in accordance with AS9100 standard.
• Plan and participate in external audits relating to the AS9100 standard.
• Support incoming inspection and communicate with suppliers regarding SCARS and other issues.
• Interact with suppliers and customers on all quality-related issues.
• Identify, troubleshoot and resolve product, process, and supplier quality issues.
• Perform Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Actions for defective materials.
• Generate thorough process risk assessments using PFMEA.
• Manage instrument calibrations to required calibration schedule.
• Lead and perform new material qualification testing.
• Utilize QUV Accelerated Weathering Tester, Spectrophotometer, Tinius Olsen, and Gel Meter for quantification of material properties.
• Provide technical support and guidance to Production teams.
• Assist in any required process improvement activities.
• Host Management Review Meetings to periodically review performance to QMS with stakeholders.
• Provide QMS training and guidance to all members of facility on relevant subject
• Perform other duties as needed for sustained manufacturing excellence.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline.
• 2 or more years’ experience working in Manufacturing.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to work in a team setting.
• Strong problem solving skills.
• Skilled in MS Office including but not limited to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote.

Preferred Experience & Skills:

• Previous experience with

ISO 9001 / AS9100.

• Experience interfacing with customers and suppliers addressing quality issues.
• Familiarity with structured problem solving techniques (5-Why, Fishbone diagrams, etc.).
• AS9100 Lead Auditor training.
• ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE).
• Lean Six Sigma experience.
• Experience with unsaturated polyester resins a plus.
