About the Team Reporting to the Quality Performance Manager for ZF’s electrified powertrain technology division, the Resident Engineer will join a team of professional technicians supporting our customers in the US. Through strong communication, culture, shared goals and a passion for technology, the Resident Engineer strives to ensure a customer focused environment, in close collaboration with Research and Development, Customer Quality and Operations departments. Resident Engineer II:

A technically challenging environment, where investigative and problem oriented technical analyses are required.
Monitoring manufacturing processes and assess product quality to determine adequacy, capability and ability to comply with customer specifications and company’s specifications.
Developing and maintaining documents and procedures related to quality standards, risk analysis, lessons learned from product recalls, product audits, field returns and repairs, complaints, scrap, and rework, and retain documented information as evidence.
Interpreting prints and measurement tools (GD&T), and provide guidance to manufacturing personnel in the proper application of quality systems and tools.
Utilizing basic quality tools along with problem solving and lean manufacturing techniques in the support of continuous improvement, root cause analysis, corrective/preventive actions promoting lessons learned process.

Resident Engineer II:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering
5+ years of related progressive experience in a manufacturing or technical environment (internships and coop experience included)
Strong organizational, attention to detail, and task management skills
Ability to understand and interpret prints, including the relationship between raw part, machining and assembly
Proven ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues, by using judgment that is in consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures
