POSITION SUMMARY

Our client is seeking a highly motivated Quality Engineer to support and enhance our quality assurance processes within a fast-paced aerospace and turbomachinery environment. This role will be responsible for performing inspections, analyzing quality trends, supporting nonconformance investigations, and developing inspection methods to ensure product conformance to internal and customer specifications.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Interpret engineering drawings and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) to develop inspection plans. Execute receiving, in-process, and final inspections using various tools such as CMMs, calipers, micrometers, and optical comparators. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues, support root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions. Document and maintain inspection procedures and quality records. Analyze nonconformance and inspection data to identify trends and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Assist in developing and implementing quality assurance standards and metrics. Support and participate in internal and external audits as needed. Provide technical support to production and engineering teams regarding inspection requirements and quality issues. Read and interpret contracts QA flow downs from aerospace customers

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or a related technical field preferred. Equivalent experience considered.

Experience:

3+ years of experience in a quality or manufacturing role, preferably within aerospace or precision manufacturing. Strong working knowledge of GD&T and interpretation of engineering drawings. Familiarity with coordinate measuring machines (CMM); Zeiss/Calypso experience is a plus. Experience with root cause analysis and problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 5 Whys, Fishbone). Proficiency with inspection tools and statistical process control (SPC) techniques.
