We are looking for a driven and curious client-focused Entry Level Water/Wastewater Engineer in Birmingham, AL. As a key member of our Birmingham team, you’ll have the chance to challenge yourself and perform a variety of water and wastewater conveyance and treatment projects from the initial planning and design phase through construction. As an Entry Level Civil (Water/Wastewater) Engineer your job will include:
- Work alongside Project Management and Design Leads in the planning, designing, and commissioning of projects from design through construction for o Water distribution projects o Wastewater collection projects o Water treatment projects o Wastewater treatment projects
- Hydraulic modeling
- Assist in the preparation of plans and specifications
- Performing research, technical writing, development of documentation and studies as well as data collection, processing, and analysis to support planning and design activities
- Supporting construction activities related to your designs to ensure proper construction and provide on-site troubleshooting based on field conditions to including construction observation, startup and testing, and project closeout activities.
- Work to build a cooperative partnership between the client, operations staff, and all stakeholders to ensure the overall success of projects.

Here’s what you’ll need The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Environmental, or Biosystems Engineering
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Forward thinking, eager to learn best practices, and contribute with innovative ideas
- Displayed ability to learn quickly and driven to broaden knowledge base
- Ability to work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teams
- Familiarity with Microsoft Suite and pdf editors
- Relevant coursework or projects Ideally, you’ll also have:
- Master’s degree in civil or environmental engineering
- Prior work or internship experience
