EAST NILES COMMUNITY SERVICES DISTRICT ENGINEERING TECHNICIANJOB OPENING A

local water/sewer district in East Bakersfield isaccepting applications for a full-time Engineering Technician,working under the direction of the General Manager. Essential jobduties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to,maintaining a geographical information system (GIS), assistingwater distribution and water treatment staff with well data andwater operations, performing field inspections of variousconstruction projects, plan checking, and preparing reports for theState Water Board, preparing road encroachment permit applicationsfor local public agencies, reviewing and responding to UndergroundService Alert notices.

Minimum qualifications:

Two (2) years ofcollege in Engineering Technology or related field, or four (4)years of sub-professional engineering experience. Possession of avalid Class C California drivers license. Knowledge of water andsewer system infrastructure. Knowledge of drafting techniques,terminology and equipment, including computer aided drafting.

Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with thepublic. Must be able to successfully complete a drug test, physicalexam, and background check as part of the pre-employment screeningprocess if offer of employment is accepted. Annual Salary $69,862$84,918 (Monthly $5,821-$7,076) with medical, dental, and visionbenefits, including participation in a pension plan. All applicantsmust complete a District application.
