100% Onsite (No option for hybridor remote) Overview The Environmental Engineer is responsible forsupporting all activities required to maintain compliance with theClean Water Act, National Pollution Discharge Elimination System(NPDES), and Susquehanna River Basin Commission (SRBC) permits.

This role also encompasses dam safety compliance, EmergencyPlanning & Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA) obligations andproviding technical expertise on water quality issues to thefacility Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Director.

Responsibilities Water Quality Compliance and Permitting Assist thefacility EHS Director in obtaining and maintaining waterquality-related permits. Maintain an in-depth knowledge of themill’s entire water balance and related regulatory requirements.

Monitor real-time water compliance data, providing progress updatesor raising compliance concerns to appropriate personnel. Developstrategies to address new regulatory requirements alongside the EHSDirector. Communicate critical information to management, facilityteams, and external stakeholders. Regulatory and TechnicalExpertise Stay informed about water quality laws and regulations atthe federal, state, and local levels. Collaborate with companymanagement, legal counsel, and facility personnel to prepare legaland technical documentation for complex projects. Lead and managewater quality projects, including selecting and overseeingconsultants, vendors, and contractors. Provide guidance onenvironmental water issues within and outside the organization. DamSafety and EPCRA Compliance Oversee dam safety regulatoryrequirements, including inspections, emergency action plans, andremediation permitting. Manage lagoon closure and maintenanceactivities, including groundwater testing, visual inspections, andrequired reporting. Ensure compliance with EPCRA, includingmanaging the

PPC/SPCC/SPR

Plans. Additional ResponsibilitiesOversee registered tank inspection programs and required personneltraining for both underground and aboveground storage tanks.

Support waste treatment operations in troubleshooting andcost-reduction initiatives. Maintain records and submit periodicreports/notifications for various regulations, including NPDES DMR,SRBC, PADEP, Tier II, hazardous substance surveys, and asbestosnotifications. Conduct internal audits to support the EnvironmentalManagement System (ISO 14000) and ensure regulatory compliance.

Respond to environmental incidents/spills/releases on a rotatingon-call schedule, coordinating cleanup efforts and regulatoryreporting. Accompany state and regulatory inspectors during on-siteevaluations. Requirements To perform this job successfully, anindividual must be able to perform each essential dutysatisfactorily. Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree (B. A. or B. S.) from four-year college oruniversity in a science-related field or university and two to fouryears related experience and/or training; or equivalent combinationof education and experience.
