Accountant / Bookkeeper Position Available In Mobile, Alabama

Fit Recruiting is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant/Bookkeeper to join a growing client of ours. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting the month-end close process, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and accounting standards. The ideal candidate has a solid understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles and thrives in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment. Pay is in the $50K to $70K range, depending on experience.

Responsibilities:

Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, bank statements, and credit card transactions Process accounts payable and accounts receivable Manage payroll processing and related reporting Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings Support the Controller in preparing financial reports, budgets, and audits Monitor and report on cash flow, collections, and account aging Ensure compliance with applicable laws and company policies Maintain organized and accurate financial records and documentation Communicate with vendors, clients, and internal departments to resolve discrepancies

Qualifications:

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 3+ years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) Strong knowledge of GAAP and general accounting principles Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills High attention to detail and accuracy Ability to work independently and as part of a team Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite
