• 1″}•Job Overview•The Jasper, Alabama, location of HTNA is looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Plant Accountant to join our team.

The role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle and maintain confidential financial and payroll records. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of financial concepts and possess the ability to work collaboratively with other departments and individuals within a manufacturing environment.

• Essential functions include but are not limited to the following:
• General accounting functions
• Assist in month-end closing activities
• Timekeeping and weekly payroll processing
• Cost accounting functions
• Prepare journal entries and record to general ledger
• Verify general ledger balance sheet accounts thru completion of reconciliations as assigned
• Review others’ balance reconciliations and assemble into balance sheet book for submission to controller
• Research variances from budget/forecast and provide details for root cause of variances
• Prepare monthly department spending reports. Analyze variances to budget/forecast and resolve miscoded expenses
• Provide backup for payroll processing function
• Provide ad hoc analysis as requested to support managers’ decision making
• Understand quotation process and prepare quotations as assigned
• Provide support for annual budget preparation and monthly forecasts
• Provide support for any internal or external audits as required
• Must be aware of and agree to abide by company quality policy
• Oversee local accounts receivable/payable processes, ensuring timely invoicing and collections
• All other duties as assigned.
• Skills
• Excellent analytical skills with proficiency in ability to interpret complex financial data to include numerical reports
• Advanced Excel user with knowledge of formulas, functions, spreadsheets with expertise in data analysis and pivot table creation
• Develop and maintain budgets
• Ability to read and understand graphs
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word
• Must possess excellent reading, verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to manage and balance multiple responsibilities
• Attention to detail and accuracy in all financial reporting tasks
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

• Experience:

• 2•5 years manufacturing experience in general and/or cost accounting preferred•Bachelors in Accounting or Finance preferred•Technical skills required: Understand of Manufacturing and Accounting processes•QAD ERP System highly preferredHTNA is an
