Plant Accountant Position Available In Walker, Alabama

Description We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for a Plant Accountant in the automotive industry. Situated in Jasper, Alabama, this role will be based in a manufacturing plant environment.

Responsibilities include:

• Overseeing Accounts Payable processes to ensure timely and accurate payments
• Assisting with internal and external audits to verify the accuracy of financial data
• Conducting bank reconciliations to maintain accurate financial records
• Handling weekly payroll and timekeeping duties to ensure employees are compensated accurately
• Performing month-end close activities, including preparing journal entries and updating the general ledger
• Supporting budget preparation and forecasting to assist with financial planning
• Analyzing variances from budget to identify any discrepancies and areas for improvement
• Understanding and applying quoting processes to ensure accurate cost accounting
• Utilizing QAD software for various accounting tasks
• Providing general support to the accounting department as needed. Requirements
• Demonstrable proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) processes and procedures.
• Solid understanding and experience with Accounts Receivable (AR).
• Proven ability to perform Bank Reconciliations with accuracy and efficiency.
• Extensive knowledge of managing and maintaining the General Ledger.
• Experience in preparing and recording Journal Entries.
• Ability to effectively handle Month End Close procedures.
• Proficiency in using QAD software for financial management.
• Experience in managing Payroll processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Strong skills in Budgeting and Forecasting, with an ability to predict financial trends and plan accordingly.
